This is only a rough Draft, that I'm posting to get some feed back.
Prologue:
Around the middle of the 20th century, mankind began their exploration of our local system known as Sol.
This expansion would falter after 6 landings on our nearest moon. The exploration would not start up again for 70 years. but would only be a temporary Luna colony set to last 15 years,
this would still provide information on the planets, Mars and Venus, though it would be another 20 years before mankind would set foot on the red planet, this would begin a 7-year conflict as several nations would claim ownership of the Red Planet, though this would result in one of the first full nation colonies been established on both the moon and the Red Planet, but would see the fall to several nations in the process. Also around this time the first unmanned space mineral harvester would deployed in orbit around Venus. Further studies are taking place at Mercury and the Sun.
With the inner solar system almost fully colonized and charted, mankind set its sights on the outer worlds. The local asteroid belt would provide a nearly limitless amount of ores and other minerals that would further help the expansion of the Sol system.
Jupiter's moon of Io would be the site of Mankind's first stable base in the outer worlds though it would be closing in on 150 years after the first Luna colony was established. The colonisation of the remaining moons would take only around 10 years, with 16 colonies built and several mineral Harvesters deployed into Jupiter's atmosphere.
But it would be the Moon of Europa that would create the biggest stir, 6 years after the Io colony was founded, with the discovery of microscopic life deep beneath the ice, mankind finally knew it was not alone in the Galaxy or even our own system. this would fuel a massive endeavour, that would last the remainder of the decade, 15 years after the discovery of life from another world mankind launched the first unmanned Space station out beyond the Kuiper Belt. During the next 20 years, the rest of our home system would become colonized. it was after the Science Station Kuiper 1 was established that man was able to build a maned Station beyond the Kuiper belt to replace the unmanned one.
It was now that Mankind made contact with its first intelligent Alien race, known as the Trilon, they mirrored the images Mankind had seen of Aliens going back over 200 years, this began the Human race luring of the Galactic Union and the thousands of Alien races that made it, It would be around 20 years before they joined, The Union was built on common grounds and needs, The Trilon, for example, were great Diplomats, while the Xiquin were a warrior race, able to bluster the Union forces. Humans have a fierce love for battle and conflict, the Xiquin were impressed with this, as it seemed to match their own. however it was DNA that would turn out to be our greatest asset, as Human DNA is very adaptable it can be reshaped and blended with any other Carbon-based life with ease, this gave way to vast medical discoveries and treatments, that the Union had found to be problematic.
As full members of the Union, the Human race powered forward and soon had hundreds of colonies beyond the Sol system.
However, it was out in the depths of Space that the Union had discovered ancient cities now lying in ruin and decay. This long-dead race became known as Guardians. From what was gathered they were far more advanced than anything the Union could have even drempt off, rumors of space travel so fast they could cross the Galaxy in hours while the Union could only achieve this in months, if not years. Then nearly 300 years after mankind joined the Union a planet was discovered near the center of the Milky Way, it was here that a barely active Guardian city was found, at its heart a laboratory with a single fertile Embryo in it, this began Project Phoenix, from this we discovered one thing...

We should have left them extinct..........
