Scripture: Jonah 3; Revelation 8-9

Scripture Verse: “Return to the Lord your God, for He Is gracious and compassionate.” Joel 2:13b

God’s Attribute: Omnipotent. God has all power.

Main Truth: God loves people even when they sin.

Story: “God Is listening, God Is listening, to each word I say, God will hear me, God will hear me, each time I pray. Our hands we fold, our heads we bow, so we can talk to God right now. Thank you, God, for bringing Cain and Abel and Seth…”name each child “here today. Thank you, God, for Your holy book, the Bible. Amen.” Hold up the Bible. “Does anybody know what book this is? This book is the Bible. The Bible is God’s word and it’s the truth. ‘The Bible is true, the Bible is true, and everything the Bible says, the Bible is true.’

“The people of Nineveh didn’t obey God and they hurt people.” Hold up picture of people.

“That is called sin. Sin is when we do what we want, not what God wants.”

“God loved the people of Nineveh.” Hold up Throne Room picture.

“God loves people even when they sin.

”God sent Jonah to tell the people of Nineveh to stop sinning.” Show picture of Jonah.

”The people of Nineveh stopped sinning. They obeyed God.” Sing O is for Obey.

”The people of Nineveh asked God to forgive them. “

”God forgave the people of Nineveh.”

Questions: What is this book? This book is the Bible. Who loves people even when they sin? God loves people even when they sin.

Clap hands. “Return to the Lord your God, for He Is giving and kind, return to the Lord your God, for He Is giving and kind. Joel chapter two, verse thirteen, Return to the Lord your God, for He is giving and kind.”


Songs:

Pass out bells. “We can always trust God. Trust and Obey.

Pass out ribbons. “God always loves us. Let’s praise God.” Praise Him, Praise Him. Use trust Him, Obey Him.

Pass out shakers. “God Is good all the time.” God Is So Good.

Quiet Time: Blanket, lights out, Jesus Loves Me, O is for Obey. If we have a globe, sing He’s Got the Whole World. Sing GOD’S got the whole world.

Large Muscle Time: Hoop, balls, marching, If you’re happy and you know it, large blocks.
