A short scene with Farmer, Owl, and 'me'
The farmer was discussing with the owl their arrangements and was finishing up as I walked into the barn.
“I see you were talking with the owl. To be honest I wouldn’t trust a thing he says.”
“But I do trust him. He is awake all night and watches for varments and rats and keeps them away. The few that don’t stay away become his dinner. He has my back at night, and I have his during the day. He can sleep and nest here in the warm barn all day and not be bothered.”
Well, I still wouldn’t want to trust him I said as I moved out the barn doors.
Let's have a snowball fight the farmer shouted as he came out. I looked back and he was gathering a handful of snow already. I honked and honked a few times spreading my wings I called for my klan and we moved into V formation heading South.
I’ll see you next spring Farmer!!
