A poem about self-reflection and acceptance
Never Too Far

I never go too far.
No. Never far enough.
Could be I am a fool.
The path I take too tough.

Broken knees, broken back.
The weight that I’m under.
I try to be polite.
But, why try I wonder?

I never was too strong.
No. Never strong enough.
Could be I ate my face.
The waves I rode too much.

Broken heart, broken will.
The mask that I adore.
I wear this face I dare.
But, wary anymore?

I never was lethal.
No. Never lethal, but.
Could be I hate a man.
But, was I man enough?

Broken house, broken bond.
The lies that I lived for.
They cut the flesh of me.
They now expose the core.

I never was stable
No, never stable blue.
Could be the man I hate.
He used to look like you.

Broken mold, broken shape.
I’ll not be seen again.
I’ll disappear like rain.
And never feel this pain.
