Worked in a yarn company
Sewing buttons on army uniforms.

Working in a sweatshop
That was a fire trap.
Located deep in the countryside.

One day there
was a massive snowstorm.

She and her fellow workers
Could not escape the fire
That overtook the factory.

As the emergency exits
Were blocked by the snow.

Despite the winter storm
She tried to warn the authorities
Of the fire in the factory.

All lines were shut down
Nothing was moving
Due to the railroad strike
And the unusual winter storm.

Her message blocked
And no one came to rescue
The poor workers in the sweatshop.
