To The Miles Family Mothers

To the “mothers” in my family -- “QUEENS HAPPY MOTHERS’ DAY!”

My grandmother, I never knew, but I heard so many wonderful things about her.

My mother was a saint walking this earth before and after her death.

Me, I have always strived to be a good mother, and I believe I succeeded.

Shalinda, Nneka, Ashika, Tonya (the children), Tatiyana, and Eriyana (the grandchildren) are each great mothers to their children.

Today, I honor each of you for taking on the role of motherhood and giving me wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Yes, life might have been a lot simpler without them.

Yes, you might have kept your Coke-Cola bottle figures longer.

Yes, your wallets might have had a few more dollars in them.

Yes, to almost any reason you may offer for not having become mothers.

But no matter the reason for not becoming a mother, you chose to become one!

Thank you!

Because of you and a few others, I am the grandmother of seventeen (17) living grandchildren.

So far, some of those grandchildren have given me fourteen (14) great-grandchildren, and the verdict is still out.

Ladies, you are the APPLES of my eyes and have earned the right to your thrones!

Yes, that’s right, you are “QUEENS” in your own right.

You are rock stars, ruling your fiefdoms with grace, beauty, and love. I HAIL you, Queens, now and always.

The Williams/Miles family will live on.
