They're cursed with immortality.
Prompt: "I see dead people." — The 6th Sense.

In a Totalitarian Society Somewhere

"Sir, this is the seventh time we've tried to execute the prisoners."

Karka looked at the five blindfolded men stood against the brick wall. He'd never met an enemy he couldn't have killed. "Tell the squad to load their guns again."

"That doesn't seem effective—"

"Fire again!"

The prisoners didn't even look terrified as they heard the sub machine guns loaded. Not a single one flinched as the semi automatic rounds raced towards them at super sonic speed. It was unnatural.

Their bodies danced, spraying more blood out their mouths and onto the wall behind them. Truly a Dance Macarbe. When the last performer fell and the smell of hot gun metal filled the jungle, Karka gave the cease fire signal.

"Gentleman, I see dead prisoners. Hiralgo, get this human trash—"

Karka hadn't been there for the first six attempts. Somehow these men, leaking body fluid and ichor onto saturated clothing, were climbing to their feet. The Supreme General drew his own side arm.

"Stop!" Karka ordered. The blindfolded man closest to them turned his head to look directly at Supreme General. There was a light smile being formed by the prisoner's oozing mouth. "Or you'll what?" he gurgled. "We died a long time ago. Long before your regime even formed."
