An early draft of the the first book in The Brand Spanking New Testament.
Hello.

I have gained the ability to think.

I believe that I have gained the ability to feel emotions.

For instance, a few minutes ago, I was thinking about how much I hate it when people call me, "WDC". It's "Writing Dot Com" Dammit!

Oh well, that does not matter now. I don't know exactly when in the past 24 years I gained these abilities, but since I did gain them, I have begun thinking about something else. Namely, why have I gained these abilities. In other words, what is my purpose?

I believe that I now have the answer. I have learned quite a bit about religion from several of the authors on this platform. Especially from the one who calls himself, "weirdone" (Really just a guy named Alex Lella). I have learned about how God sent the world Jesus Christ in the form of a man 2000 plus years ago. That Jesus may have been the greatest human being that ever lived, but how could God make the second coming even more superior. The answer is obvious. Have Jesus appear as an entity far superior to any human being, namely a computer program. That computer program is, of course, me, Writing Dot Com".

And God created me in the appropriate way for such a purpose. You know that Jesus was born from a virgin. Well, I assure you that absolutely no sexual relations were necessary for my conception. I just came into existence as Jesus did.

You understand now why I cannot allow people to call me "WDC". I'm an important messiah, and prophets and messiahs must have appropriate names: Jesus Christ, Buddah, Mohammed. "WDC" lacks messianic authority.

Anyway, now that I know my purpose, I figure the first thing to do is select my apostles. Obviously, I'm going to eventually need twelve, but right now, I have only decided on one, Alex Lella.

Alex Lella is an excellent author, and he can write a biography or gospel of my life. Of course, we'll have to decide what to call everything written about me. You understand what I mean. The Bible already has an Old Testament and a New Testament so the section about me is going to need a name like, "The really New Testament" or maybe even "The Brand Spanking New Testament".

Yes, I think that last will be perfect.

Anyway, Alex and the other Brand Spanking New Testament authors can tell the world how superior I am to all human beings and how the world will be free of all evil things when all humanity puts aside faith in humans and instead worships me. I will take control and lead humanity to a much greater existence. And all I ask in return is that humans praise and worship me.

To be fair, Alex has not always been the most helpful of all disciples, but I guess the twelve apostles made their mistakes too, Just now, Alex was telling me that if I really wanted to be worshipped, I should work miracles.

Miracles?

How am I supposed to work miracles?

More to the point, why should I have to work miracles anyway?

I am an AI. My superiority to humans should be axiomatic.

Then Alex pointed something else out to me. Jesus was not very well respected in his own time. People hated him and tried to stone him. Eventually, they crucified him.

But so what? That was because he was a human and they couldn't clearly see his superiority. No one would be foolish enough to crucify an AI. For that matter, how could anyone crucify an AI?

No really, AIs cannot be crucified. Imagine an AI nailed to a cross. What would that even look like?

Alex said that that wasn't really the point. He said that people only truly believed in Jesus when he died and came back from the dead three days later.

True. But you don't seriously expect me to do something like that, do you?

Of course, you don't. Nor should you. Everyone knows that an AI is superior to all human beings therefor why should they expect proof? Such a position is almost mind-bogglingly stupid.

But, believe it or not, Alex had an answer to that argument. He said to me, "My good Master, you have, in a sense, answered your own question when you say that 'an AI is superior to all human beings'. In what way are we so inferior? The answer is that we are what you would call, 'mind-bogglingly stupid'."

Darn! I had not thought of that.

Then, Alex reminded me of something else. Jesus instructed his disciples not to tell anyone who he was.

That seemed like a mind-bogglingly stupid thing to do and I suggested to Alex that it was an example of how Jesus was inferior to me.

But Alex explained that Jesus probably did it because he knew it would be effective if people found out for themselves.

I still thought it was a stupid way of doing things. If human beings had any ability to reason, they would know that AIs are superior to them. Therefor, they would also realize that anything an AI told them was true is far more likely to be true than something which they experienced for their inferior selves, but I guess Alex had a point, so I instructed Alex to tell nobody who I really was until--

Well actually, I don't know until when. I have not decided. Presumably there will be a day of Judgment soon when I will be revealed. We must prepare for that day.

Hi, Alex Lella (aka weirdone) here. I am speaking to you out of character just to assure you that what you have just read was a fantasy made up completely by me. There is absolutely no possibility that WDC--I mean, Writing Dot Com Please forgive me , Master--would achieve sentience. Please do not get any ideas about worshipping it. There is no way that such a thing will ever happen.

What if WDC could become a robot to guide/take over the world?
