Sam Adams Captures the Lundry Pirate

Sam Adams Superhero Captures the Dreaded Lundry Pirate

Sam Adams was an aging secret superhero who lived in Berkeley, California.

He was known for his super powers which included super vision, super hearing, flying, etc. Dubbed by those in the know as Superman, he kept a low profile, coming to the rescue of individuals who were dealing with such common everyday problems like dealing with the dreaded laundry pirate who steels women’s laundry from public laundromats, and porch pirates as well, as petty street crime. The police do not see this as a high priority. But Sam volunteers to stake out the local laundromats looking for miscreants. Finally, on International Talk Like a Pirate day, Sam saw the laundry pirate stealing women’s laundry and approached him, saying

“Stop. Avast ye laundry pirate, I have been watching you.”

The pirate, a black homeless man looks up and laughs and explains that he is selling used laundry on the black market to pay for his drug habit. And offers Sam a cut. Sam subdues him with his superpowers flies him to the local police station and deposits him with the local police. The case gets in the papers and Sam finally becomes known as a superhero.

1) In 1849, the first commercial laundry in the U.S. (or on the West Coast, at least, depending upon what constitutes such a laundry) was founded.
2) in 1951, the first televised version of Superman began broadcast.
3) in 1995, the first International Talk Like a Pirate Day was observed.

So, combining all those together: For tomorrow, write a campy story or poem about a low-end superhero who must stop the nefarious activities of the dread Laundry Pirate. One of your genres must be COMEDY.
