Revisiting Anna and Nolan twenty years later.
Anna looked out over her yard and smiled before turning to her friends. "Well, as far as I'm concerned, love itself is a dance."

"Oooohh, I remember that dance," Sara chimed, the grin spreading across her face and lighting up her eyes. "I'm still amazed how long it took you to recognize what was happening.

Megan leaned forward and snatched her lemonade from the table. "Well, I remember interrupting a makeout session, and yes, I happily take full credit for it."

Anna smiled; those memories seemed so long ago now.

"Do you even remember the torture and heartache? I mean, every step forward was like a tease of, oh, this is going to be the sweetest thing you will taste, to leaping backward in the next heartbeat doused in bitter chocolate."

Megan and Sara laughed. "We remember," Sara said.

Anna caught her husband's gaze across the backyard, and her breath hitched, sparking that sultry song from their past to play in the back of her mind. She remembered how she pressed into him on the dancefloor at The Stix, how he held her close and his warm breath washed over her cheek.

If she closed her eyes, she'd be right back to that moment, to that dance that made it impossible for her to love anyone else.

Nolan's warm breath fluttered over her ear, sending an electric current to her stomach and out over each limb. Warm, tingling sensations swamped her senses. She inhaled his scent of spice that mingled with soap as his hard body moved against hers, fitting her frame perfectly. Anna sighed and melted deeper into him, the contact too exquisite to resist. Desire flared, and she felt encouraged to take a chance and see where this went. The only thing that mattered was how she felt in this one space in time. It was heavenly. Anna continued to sway in his arms, allowing herself to enjoy this moment and damn the consequences. Being in his strong arms as he held her up against his warm body was pure ecstasy. Pressing her chest against his, she could feel his heartbeat beating in time with hers. She marveled at the strange sensations rushing through her as the realization that her heart recognized Nolan's set in. She was drawn to him like a moth to the flame. Dancing with him made her forget every bad thing that had happened to her over the years.

"Earth to Anna," Sara said, pulling Anna out of her revery.

She blushed, took a sip from her glass to cool the fire that raced through her from that enchanting memory of the moment she knew Nolan captured her heart. "Sorry," she muttered.

Nolan headed her way, as if he somehow knew where her mind had went, his long legged strides as powerful as they had been back then. He still mesmerized her with his mere pressence twenty years later.

"Excuse me, ladies, I need my wife for a moment," he said, reaching out for her hand and leading her into the house, and around the corner out of sight. He pushed her up against the wall in the hallway and smiled down at her, his fingers grasping her hips. "I know that look."

She knew he did, but there was no way she'd make this easy for him. "What look is that?" Anna asked.

Nolan laughed. "That dreamy eyed I'm still madly in love with him incredible husband and how soon before these guests leave look."

Anna crossed her arms over her chest, trying to stop the onslaught of desire that raced through her body as those dark eyes raked over her.
"You, are still so full of yourself."

"Maybe, but am I wrong?"

He had her there. "Does it matter?" she asked, her eyes landing on his mouth, wanting nothing more than to kiss him and let the outside world drift away.

Nolan's eyebrow rose. "Definitely." His hand rested on her cheek, his thumb brushing against her face sending delicious shivers down her spine. His mouth hovered over hers, and before she say another word, his lips met hers.

Anna went up on her toes, wrapped her arms around his neck and held on, just like she had in the hallway in at The Stix, when destiny and desire took over, planting her firmly back home in Endurance.
