A friendly, casual non-denominational study adventure through the 25 days of Advent Group! |

** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** Welcome to the 2010 Annual Advent Adventure! The "AAA" Group is a casual, non-denominational study community who commit to a daily learning activity for each of the 12 or 25 days (depending on that year's particular Adventure) immediately preceding the Advent (birth) of Jesus Christ. Christians the world over call it Christmas. From a Christian perspective, we will look at the implications and ramifications of the story of Christmas. Hopefully, we will come to understand that the story is not a fairy tale, nor a fable. Nor is it a story past, but a story right now. Persons of any faith group may participate, so long as you participate within the guidelines set for the group. Those are really simple. Be respectful, study each day without fail, and come join a group of fellow WDC members for some real fun! To be a part of the adventure team, you must make a personal commitment to spend some amount of time each day of the adventure reading, studying, and completing the adventure tasks. It's a heavy commitment, until you get involved. Then, as many previous adventurers would tell you, you just wouldn't miss it for anything in the world! There is a daily reading, and an activity of some sort. Many include creative writing, but not all. All activities are housed in my portfolio, so anyone can participate. The group members have scores and "points" that can be earned by completing the tasks for each day of the adventure. There are prizes, contests and many other "surprise" activities. The previous days of the adventure may be seen at any time, but each new day's adventure challenge will be posted between 9:00 PM and Midnight (WDC Time), giving each adventurer 24 hours to complete the daily activities. To make the Annual Advent Adventure more enjoyable for all participants and "Guides", we have broken the participants down into "adventure teams. Each team is under the care of a Guide, who will help you proceed safely through the adventure. All teams will have the same daily activities, with a different Guide for each team. The only difference is that each team will have it's own Forum to provide your adventure work. All other activities are the same for all adventurers. Each "team" will have between 10 and 25 adventurers, depending on the number of total participants for the adventure. Therefore, it is very important that you keep in mind which team you are on! Respond to the daily work ONLY in your correct forum, as listed in the daily adventure. If you are on the Green team, and you submit your work on the Red Forum, your Guide will not be able to interact with you, or give you adventure points, etc. The teams will build as adventurers sign up. (In previous such adventures, I have seen as many as eight (8) teams!  If you get lost, or confused, just let me know and I will guide you back to the appropriate Guide and Forum. As you may already be able to tell, time is an important factor in this adventure. Some points, awards, prizes, etc. are time "sensitive". Person X submitted first, or Person Y completed the task in the least amount of time, etc. Also remember that this is a world-wide adventure. Some folks will be eight hours behind WDC time, or even eight hours ahead of WDC time. Yet, time will matter at all times. Corrections will be made when required for the clock. (WDC time is GMT-5) No one will be penalized for their time zone. Welcome to The Annual Advent Adventure, 2012 Edition!
