I am a student trying to find my place in the world, much like my protagonist Linnéa. I am luckier than her to live in a world that is starting to accept people who are different from the norm; however, our worlds share dilemmas as well. Old systems of power benefit those born at the top and natural catastrophes are starting to occur more frequently. In "Petals to Ashes", the way the world works and the way it should work could not be further from each other. Still, Linnéa fights to make a place for her and her companions.
