The turn of the 20th c. writers reflect my ideologies most. My life's bound with a certain calling of character-testing like some of these writers reflect. So my stories are more one's of character, too, or individuals grasping for truth amidst false beliefs; reflecting human failure verses heroic humanity, much like Zane Grey's novels do.
I do live on a sailboat. It's where my calling is in life, though I do not sail. I feel deeply the import of the sea and of being away from "civilization" though, because it's how a person sees themselves and faces life that gives them a real purpose and self-identity, not manmade trappings.
