My writing encompasses historical research and analysis as well as historical fiction. One of my main objectives when writing stories is to develop characters that reflect the suppressed or overlooked experiences of marginalized individuals. I also endeavor to portray the contradictory nature of human beings and the circumstances that lead us toward unforeseen predicaments. Inspired by years of community activism and participation in creative writing workshops, I strive to interweave elements of humor, suspense, authentic dialogue, as well as sociopolitical issues in my pieces.
