I wrote stories and poems in school years. In Finnish, my native language. I read classics in my early years - actually I read all I could catch - then I learned Swedish, later German, reading through our old (inherited) library. There was but a little in English - Lalla Rookh by Thomas Moore there is - and I was not far in my studies in that language. Later I had to learn English. Still I feel myself as a novice. Thirty years ago I got engaged in writing plays. I can never get rid of that.
