Forty years of my life were spent writing for, editing and publishing newspapers and magazines in the United Kingdom. I retired aged 60 in 2002, since when I have compiled a portfolio of short stories and poems, which I am forever revisiting to amend or supplement. I'm still learning, now reading much more than I ever had time for during my professional career. Henry Williamson is my favourite author. Spare time is also devoted to surveying and verifying ancient trees for the Woodland Trust. I live in Lancashire with my wife, a retired head-teacher. Our daughter, a psychologist, lives in Los Angeles, CA.
