When I was young I either wanted to go into medicine or write. I chose the medical profession and became a nurse. I work in a ER. For many years I was a traveling nurse and through these travels I met a tiny white haired woman. I was working in an incredibly busy ER and I went into her room for a quick IV start. She had the worst veins ever. I didn't have much time and frustrated I said, "You have the veins of a drug addict" She looked at me and replied, "I was, I used heroin in the 1940's. I sat and listened to her story, a little ashamed of my attitude, and she became my inspiration for Eva.
