Aoiri Obaigbo holds a degree in English Language and Literature in English. As a journalist, he was concerned with the flawed leadership in Africa and the quality of life in tough neighbourhoods in Nigeria. He explores these concerns intimately in his works. He made the B.B.C. World Service Play Writing Competition and the Association of Nigerian Authors/ Cadbury Poetry Award Shortlists in 1992. He was once Head of Media and Communication, Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria, Western Operations.
