Tribute to the Dead

As this Immortal soul sloughs its Mortal Coil,
We gather together here today at this memorial.
We think back and dwell on the time spent knowing,
Mourning for and recalling all the time lost growing.
Singing songs and praising god, we thank him for this gift,
And to meet this soul in the Afterlife is our one true wish.
We never like to say good bye, so instead we wait til then,
And prepare for our own ‘Farewells,’ to say ‘We’ll meet again.’
