For my teenage son's Theatre Arts teacher. As he was under her direction, became suddenly expressive and articulate. * * * * * * Poetry is wonderful; it's words that can dance, Throughout our spirit if we give it the chance, Will permeate our emotions flooding our soul, Uplifting our lifestyle as we grow old. Words can paint pictures; some from the past, Words stir up feelings that linger and last, Committed to memory we recite childhood rhyme, Taking us to faraway places and time. Taught to us when we're young and small, Repeated over and over before we can crawl. By mommies, daddies, older siblings too, Cheering kids on ... as people will do. A musical element is a natural plus, A God-given gift in each one of us. Singing a poem, a lyric, those words, Are craftsmen that want their artistry heard. Poetry can rhyme or written as prose, This genius in some completely explodes. A deep-seated talent, inflammable skill; Projecting words that no one can steal. Words can bring laughter or streaming tears, Words can give courage and dissolve all fears. Words can also cut to the quick, Words can make us . . . physically sick. Words make poetry like singing a song, Together and matched they perfectly belong. Into our lives we sing and recite, Poetry and music, all day and night. Encourage, express, and animate speech, Embracing the person who's able to teach. Releasing the passion that's pent up in you, Every day, every way, make all things new! * * * * * * |
