3 poems about a girl I once dated. I wrote them before and while we were dateing. |
Poem 1: Her questions She asked me the other day What did I do to be treated this way? I smiled, shrugged, and held her close Gave her a kiss that curled her toes She looked at me and told me she was afraid I looked at her then kissed her fears away I give this promise I’ll never take away As long as you want me with you I’ll stay Now I ask you how I could deserve Someone like you such a wonderful girl I’ve never been good at being good I’ve done lots things I never should But now here I am and there you are My angel from heaven My very own fallen star Ask any question I’ll tell you no lies I’ll pay any price to be by your side I hope you don’t mind the words I write But now that you’re here I have a feeling its going to be a wonderful life Poem 2: I am lost I sit here and all I can think of is you And all the things we do Like… When are lips press together In a heavenly embrace Like hands in a prayer I can feel the blood rushing to my face. Then all my worries go flying into the air I feel like falling And lying there for a while Just staring at your smile I feel so lost But I don’t want to be found When I walk it feels like my feet don’t touch the ground You don’t know how you inspire me How you spark a desire in me I don’t know how to express These feelings in my chest I don’t know if this should be said But you make little hearts around my head I had a dream of us Lying in the green grass Just letting hours pass Staring into your eyes My heart almost stopped And I let out a sigh “I’m so lost” Poem 3: redemption How does one redeem themselves? When life made them put their hearts on a shelf. Because of wrongs done by someone else. When all I feel is blue, till the day I met you. Now I know when I’m humming a song, You’re somewhere humming along. And that can’t be wrong…. Can it? I think I see a break in my dark days. I think I see a way though the painful haze. Now I got myself a guiding light That I found in your beautiful eyes. Now I got a way to make it though my darkest day And all I have to do is pray: “If only…” “If only…” “If only I’m worthy of her love. I’ll pull stars from the heavens above. Just to put more sparkles in her eye. I’ll hurt anyone who makes her cry.” “If only…” “If only…” “If only I could be the perfect man. If my feet weren’t crooked and no sake in my hand. You’d have what you deserve The one perfect man in the world.” “If only…” “If only…” |
