A boy/young man/man waits for his true love, by the tree where he fell in love with her.
By the tree he waits
He sits still while the leaves sway
He will wait forever
He will wait here as long as it takes

By the tree he thinks
He is in deep thought that won’t leave
He will think forever
He even sees her in his dreams

By the tree he took a fall
He did not trip over the roots that crawl
He has fallen forever
He fell not for part of her, but all

By the tree he waits
He sits in patience while the leaves sway
He will wait forever
He will wait here as long as it takes
