These are two poems of inspiration from JOURNEY FROM DARKNESS. There is hope!
SUNRISE

As I watch the sun rise this morning,
I shall gather in strength and peace.
While the new day is a-borning,
The new me I'll gently release.

Today is the day I've waited for,
And as I watch the rebirth of the sun,
I feel my sprit within me soar
At the sonder of the trip I've begun.

I know there'll be times I stumble and fall,
But I have faith that I'll rise again.
I have a new power on which I can call,
To accept, and once more to begin.

I will accept what this new day brings,
Learn the lessons it has to teach.
Let go of the memory of old things
That made happiness so hard to reach.

INNER CHILD

Inside of me there lives a Child
Who wants to run and play.
For too many years
Because of my fears
I've denied this Child her way.

I thought I'd lost her years ago,
That my playful Child had died.
But she's waited for me
To finally see
That all this time she's been inside.

I've come to love and treasure her:
To listen to her words,
"The time has come
To have some fun,
And rejoice in the song of birds."

At last I find I'm ready to learn
The lesson she has to teach
To me she calls
That work's not all,
That there's time to walk on a beach.

I'll never abandon this happy Child.
Together we'll make our way.
Although there'll be tears
And sometimes fears,
With her I shall learn to play.
