Empty Chair

Hail to the empty chair
As we sit and eat this meal

Hail to those that have sat in it
Those that we call 'friend'

Hail to all the people who have not yet sat in it
Those that we will meet someday

Hail to all those that could not sit in it today
And to those that will sit in it tomorrow

Hail to all the empty chairs at other tables
May they one day find us sitting in them
