IF I WERE A MAGIC WAND


If I were a magic wand,
My life would be truly hell.
I would have to carry out
All that my master may tell.

And, who would be master mine?
Most likely a mean wizard;
Or, still worse, a long nosed witch
Coming out of a blizzard.

What would my job then be like?
Say, bring a million dollars
By whatever means, even,
Killing and looting coffers.

I would be simply a tool,
With no use for brain or heart.
For my master I would wait,
And, on command, simply dart.

No, I would prefer to be
Just an ordinary stick
That may give, in the old age,
Comfort to a person sick.
