Waiting For A Heart To Beat

She dropped to the ground.
Crying out.

He fell to the floor beside her,
And realized what had occured.
With his head to her chest,
No heart beat he heard.

He looked up crying,
"Somebody call 911!"
He knelt down beside her,
His head hung.

He cleared her hair away from her face,
And carressed her head.
He said a prayer over and over,
"Please God, don't let her be dead."

His tears began flowing,
His shoulders began to shake,
He wanted her to make it,
And tried to stop crying for her sake.

He tried to get her breathing,
Wishing her life to keep.
You don't know how hard it is,
Waiting for a heart to beat.
