Thick blackness consuming fading light
Risen from the burnt coals of soothsayer dreams
Images of doom roaming the minds of skeptic souls
Nightmares creeping into reality
Guided by the crooked hands of fate
As the blind eyes of destiny
Fumble their way across bridges
Overburdened with fragmented life

Look ahead for yesterday’s sorrows
A lone sentinel shining
Through growing needles of evergreens

The trail snaking through darkness shrouded
Slithering through the haunted ways of grand delusion
Horrible in their elegance
The shadowy charm of a lion’s pride
Walking graceful through the tall grass
Blending with the winds of fear
To prey upon the weak
Feasting on hopes harbored within

Wary is the voyager
To walk this darkly way

Nightmare visions ensue

The way blocked by the minions of unborn days
Night kept perpetual through magic’s of shades
Dancing motionless moves of eternal vibration
Hypnotizing as their precision enthralls
Capturing those even slightly tainted
Condemning their spirits to the lost ballet

Awake with a scream

Before the eyes of strong vision
The lone attacker of everlasting night arises
Chasing demons with long fingers of heated rays
Burning their skin with the faithful light of a new day
Leading the way for children to return
Freed from their cages of dismay
Again strolling through soft winds
Cradled in the mothers arms
