Describing how I felt when someone withdrew from friendship for no apparent reason
FRIENDSHIP BETRAYED

We meet and then befriend someone,
And, then, apart we go.
This parting is painful whether
We part as friend or foe.

If we extend hand of friendship,
And the other accepts,
Then if we withdraw abruptly,
The other one perhaps

Might feel a bit bewildered and
Even a bit depressed.
He or she goes along in life
Ever in thought distressed,

Wondering why the friendship broke,
Though nurtured well by both,
To guard which they had solemnly
Taken many an oath.

But all such thought and all concern
Over the lack of faith
Do not lead to reunion of
Betrayer and betrayed.
