This started out as a poem, but became lyrics to a song later on....

For the ways of the world
keep on tearing me down.
For the ways of the world
keep on making me frown,
for the ways of the world
are a turnin' me round, `way from you.

On the day that you said
you were going away.
On the day that you said
you were leaving to stay.
On the day that you said
you were going away I said
to your name "I love you!"

For the ways of the world

On the day that all of my
family died, left me here
all alone. Left me to cry
away in my fears all alone.
