feeling lost
Break Me

Velvet softness envelops me
your warm hands embrace me
caressing you, I fall deep--
only to shatter on stone.

Don’t break me, I had asked.
too late; now dusty shards remain
you pick them up, tucking them away,
holding them close to heal.
