New Prompt: Write a story or poem detailing your most romantic moment. It doesn't have to be biographical...creativity is encouraged.

Romantic Moments

Romantic moments find their way
Dictated not by time or place
Who is to define and judge?
The joys and pains shared
With the man I once loved

Father of my children
Their lives, our lives do forever entwine
Without rhyme or reason
Their joy and laughter, comfort and health
Became the seasons of our being

We battled the monsters and storms
Our endurance worn thin by days end
As evenings turned to nights, pleasure another chance
Just to lie down together alone

My most romantic memories recalled
Of you slumbering peacefully
Exhausted provider and protector
Comfortably separated from each other again
By the four children that eternally sleep between

*Note* I don't know why I feel driven to leave an explanation about the above poem.

Basically, I guess it depends on your definition of romance, evidently mine is just a little twisted. This poem is what the prompt produced, and honestly reflects what I think was just one of the most romantic moments in my marriage. Let me set the stage: Our four children would all find their way into our bed during the night (almost every night). Each one would manage to squeeze between us. I have a strong memory of often waking up and witnessing this near nightly event, and remembering how moved (touched, affected) I was by all the children curled up between us. Personally I fear that this may sound silly to most to be considered a romantic moment, but this is the part of the romance I experienced while being a wife and mother. Or am I guilty of making lemonade out of lemons again? *Laugh*
