Long distance, and the feelings it inspires
Pain rushes in again,
Filling the void you leave
As your car pulls out of sight.
Tears go unshed,
Blinked quickly away
As bravery goes unseen.
Back is turned
Walking away quickly,
As loneliness is hidden.
Curled up in a ball,
Hugging your sweatshirt
As small comforts are embraced.
Eyes drift closed,
Slipping into a fitful sleep
As your memory summons a smile.
