My Poet's Prompt Contest entry.
My Stolen Soul

These wounds don't seem to heal
my soul is vulnerabe for the steal
I am forgetting how to love
so I fall down on my knees
and pray for help from up above.

I cry out loudly in anguish
as my soul is deteriorating
I have been alone all along
I can not tell how much longer
I will be able to hold on.

How I yearn to be whole again
because I am so cold deep within
numbness is slowly becoming my reality
and mortality's a constant threat
Lord, please, I have so many regrets.

I am praying for deliverance
my soul needs resurrecting
from a lifetime of spiritual denial
your callings I answered with refusal
and the theft of my soul is imminent.

My innermost light has darkened
but, Lord, I see you out there in my abyss
patiently shinning your lighthouse beacon
guiding and keeping my empty soul in focus
on you and the answer to my salvation.

Lord as I slowly drift even nearer
I can feel your love for me more clear
Satan tries to tighten his grip on my soul
but your love is greater than told
I'm not alone anymore since your decent.

A glorious new day has started to dawn
and my soul has began its welcomed thaw
trembling with pleasure as I make my revenant
knowing these wounds have been healed
the Lord will be by my side on my journey.
