Peace of Mind

This sadness inside
That's been with me for so long
Is getting harder to hide
Making it impossible to be strong

Each passing day
Seems to bring only tears
There's nothing to say
To try and hide my fears

I've tried my hardest
I've tried my best
Not to be like the rest

I'm just being me
Trying so hard to find
What others so easily see
Some joy and peace of mind

I'd rather die than go on pretending

Then I could go
To a place where there's no one to please
Some place where no one has to know
A place where my mind can be at ease
