Death is an oxymoron: sorrowful joy, especially when one's mother dies.
Death
by Vivian Gilbert Zabel

Clouds wrap deadening trees
In wisps of misty tears
That drip into puddles of grief.
Eyes that are emptying of life
Stare at the darkened sky
Before leaving loved ones behind.
Aching hearts, crying in silent sorrow,
Sit holding a hand grown still.
The cold seeps, spreads,
Spilling ashes of lost memories
Onto heads bowed with weary waiting
As farewells softly whisper
The final step into another sphere,
While angel hands reach
In joyful welcoming to a soul
Returning home at last.
