I think the title says it: What a way to start a day!
Eyes pop open, another day has begun.
Inside my head, words are on the run.
Swimming around, wanting to get out
and share what they are all about.

Reaching for my notebook, but it's not there.
Where is it? Oh, I left it by my chair.
Stretching, I stand, have to go pee.
Body overrules mind, saying first me.

Now I want coffee, as I pass through the kitchen.
Making it now, so later there's no gripin'
Passing up the notebook, going to the PC.
I am addicted to Writing.Com, you see.

Clicking the link, signing in, off I go.
Hurry up, I want to get to my portfolio.
Go to static, setting up the page before I start.
Deep breath, sigh, now the words can depart.

My fingers type steadily. On they go.
As my mind hits full speed, words flow.
Now they are released from my mind at last.
Leaving me, becoming thoughts from the past.

Making space for new words to form.
Past words are out, now they are born.
Sitting back, I sigh. Those words will not return.
Remembering only, when inside, how they would burn.

Now with the world I want to share.
Scroll down to save, my thoughts to bare.
Click save. Screen jumps to do its work,
but it's not on the right screen, which I now look.

While my fingers were flowing on the keys,
words were born, now dead. I'm in misery.
My heart hits my stomach; I want to cry.
Oh, when did my server connection die?

You would think from this lesson I should learn,
to the computer I should not first turn.
With a pencil on paper, my words should rest,
for those age old contraptions are still the best.
