I don't like to write a bio about myself. It seems so narcisistic. But who else is going to do it? So here, for what it's worth, is my view of me. (cringe):
I live in the woods in northern Michigan. I’ve come back to writing in the past 10 years, and am beginning to accomplish some things, slowly. I’ve had some features in newspapers, and I’ve had a couple of poems in a state anthology. I am working on a novel that looks like Women's Fiction at this point. I took some genealogy courses and have researched my and my husband’s family (a job that’s never done). Recently our local genealogical society completed an 800+ page county history, for which I was a copy editor. Currently, I am editing/proofing for the fiction section of Voices of Michigan, Volume IV. (Update: This project is complete. Book due out in June.) I have a sweet husband, who doesn’t understand my dreams, yet indulges them. We have 3 children, each with a distinct personality; all have been homeschooled. One is in an engineering program at college, one is training as a dental assistant, although she has applied to MBI in Chicago. One is still home. If any of this impresses you, don’t let it. It couldn't have happened without the grace of God. My goal is to achieve excellence in my creative pursuits (isn't ALL of life a creative pursuit?)and exhort others to do the same. Most of all, I want to thirst after God. |
