from the children who left childhood early, to the ones who forced them to do so

Once I had that time
When I thought everything was mine
took all what I wanted with just innocence, and did not know what's a crime
I've had that happiness
and knew what childhood is
Enjoyed and played like every soul, while the night was closing in

Suddenly I "grew up"
and life said time is up
"Among the innocents you no more belong, take a knife and now get up"
A child with a blade in hand
Left all alone to stand
Lost all what's dear
couldn't waste a tear
Living in a monstrous land

For what sin was I punished?
In a time when I knew so little, yet had a lot to be cherished
You who saw fit that I trade everything for a knife
You who found joy in seeing me struggle for long in this life
Regardless of your belief, one truth will always for us stand tall:
You reap what you sow, sooner or later, that is the law followed by all
What world is this, that accuses me of crimes from the moment I was born?
What noble cause is yours, that requires my short life to be brutally torn?
