Time to find keys and crowbars, let the room air out
Unlock the Past!


The doors to my past remain slammed shut,
padlocked to keep out the pain.
But windows were never totally shuttered.
I can see the light peeking out.

And the putrid smells finding the cracks,
those odors that will not let me forget.

Time to find keys and crowbars,
let the room air out — so I can enter
the womb once more —
without the stench of the past.
