So much of politics is a form of kabuki theater
With lots of smoke and mirrors
Hiding what is really going down.

Donald Trump is determined
To launch a worldwide trade war
With the entire world.

All the foreign leaders, most business leaders
Wall Street executives, 99 percent of professional economists
90 percent of business journalists,

All are screaming the same thing
This is a colossal mistake.

You are repeating the mistake
That turned a recession into a worldwide depression
No one wins in a trade war! Everyone loses.

Yet it falls on deaf ears
Donald Trump does not listen
Does not even comprehend
That a tariff is a sales tax on imports
Foreigners don’t pay it; American consumers do.

And starting a trade war
Will decrease world trade
And reignite inflation
And lead to stagflation.

No one can tell him otherwise
Because he is a "stable genius"

His staff are all loyal "yes toadies"
They will not tell him otherwise.

Because they would be fired
The next day on "Truth Social"

If they dare to suggest that the Boss,
Donald Trump is about to make a mistake
Because Donald Trump is never wrong!

So behind the smoke and mirrors
What is really going on?

Donald Trump wants to show the entire world
that he is in charge, he is the world’s dictator,
the new emperor of the USA
And everyone must obey his commands.
