She crashed from Venus and was abducted to be institutionalized
What crashed into the sea
And caused a tsunami,
Gleaming and lit like a plane?

It was your spacecraft
Floating like a life raft
Never taking off to see Venus again.

We captured your craft
And called you insane
For insisting you weren’t from this world.

We call Venus “seduction”
But our own abduction
Of you - for that we have no such bad word.

That is our mission- mine - being human
Your truth- which I once called absurd, now...
