Bittersweet is still bitter
How many more must I recall
To find the memory of all
The summers past and winters gone,
And moons that rose and suns that shone?

How many tears must I recall?
How many years must I let fall?

Fewer and fewer names to call
As summers pass and sunsets fall
In ever-faster numbers, one by one
And ten by ten, 'til rising, setting-- all is done .

So many years I can't recall;
So many tears I can't let fall.
