We pass each other face to face then go our separate ways.
Two way street

I love them or they love me
but it's always a two way street.
We pass each other face to face
then go our separate ways.

I want to walk hand in hand
with someone by my side; yet,
throughout this life, I walk alone.

We cross each other's path
and sometimes stop and chat,
exchange our pleasantries and then
move on, never stopping long enough
to delve each other's depths.

They don't seem to understand
that connections lead to happiness
or maybe I don't understand;
happiness wasn't meant to be.
