Free verse poem of the occupation of Executive Secretary
Letters come and letters go
Their words flow heavy like rocks in the ocean
Demands are made by people who sport impressive titles
Take dictation please, "Dear sir,"
Scrap that - nothing dear about him flows

Coffee please, one cream, one sugar
Have you made reservations for the party?
Make sure John doesn't sit next to Paul Fair
I'm coming; the Xerox machine won't blow up before I get there
Do this, do that, get this, get that. My feet hurt

Don't you remember sir, I asked for Friday off, please
Pencils, paper, cups for the water cooler, cupcakes for the kitchen
Where's the key to the men's room. Do I look like the queen of keys?
Ring, ring, ring - oh that phone. Damn A. G . Bell!
Yes sir, your haircut is at 5:30p and don't forget to call your wife

Job title? The Queen who holds no true power but is the doer and keeper of everything.
