Bill Biggart has shown the truth multiple times but witnessed the biggest day in history. |
Bill Biggart was a photojournalist from the day of 9/11.he was the only photojournalist who had died but he also was the first and last photojournalist to get all the true action and chaos. He was first on the scene due to him taking back roads that were not looked at mean while others were running away he made sure to run to the danger so he could create a story that would last for centuries, Little did he know his passion and dedication to photojournalism would one day be taking his life. Bill Biggart as a photojournalist was very impactful to the community/society then and much more important now due to him running to danger then running away even though he did not know what was going to happen. Bill Biggart was impactful because of all the times he had revealed the truth and of how many times he had put his life on the line for his stories and photos. No matter what has happened or what has gotten in his way he has not let it stop him from getting the truth of spreading awareness and not letting himself down. In the article "Bearing to witness" by Victoria Dawson the quote “But his determination to witness history–to shoot the story–cost him his life.” This quote shows that even though he loved his family he also loved his job just as much and that he would do anything to show the truth in the most beautiful ways that anyone can see. He has changed the perspective of multiple people that have envisioned things in different ways. Bill Biggart was a photojournalist for 16 years and within those 16 years he has changed the world with just the click of the camera which is how he had changed so many people’s perspective on what we know of today's history. Bill’s photos have made an impact on then and today's society because he has dedicated 16 years of his life when he was 38 years old and has taken so many photos to change others perspective on the society they had. These two photos were two photos on the day of 9/11 and also moments before there was an accident when he was taking pictures of the tumbling towers during one of the most tragic and saddest days in 2001 where multiple lives were taken. These photos have made an impact on the society then and the society now because he showed everyone the depressing truth of what others had to endure and witness and meanwhile every other photojournalist was taking photos from a afar from a safe distance Bill was so dedicated to show the truth that he was willing to get at the front of the lines right next to the towers and take as many photos as he could of the towers, knowing that they were going to collapse at any very moment. Not only did Bill take photos of the towers in rubble and the damage that had happened, but he had also shown the people and their very own pain on their faces when he had gotten to the scene. He had shown the truth that so many people were scared and running frantically to reach safety that some of them were even running with injuries trying to save themselves from dying. In the article "Shooting to the end" by Jerry Adler it states that “East has been to disasters of every kind and scale ,from motorcycle accidents to plane crashes, but he had never been touched by one directly before.” This quote explains my reasoning because It shows how much he wanted to make an impact on society and how much he wanted to explain the truth to others around him and his family. He witnessed so much and has spread the truth so many times others even say he was one of the best photo journalists they saw due to the fact that he was everywhere all over the world no matter the cause nor the pain. Bill Biggart was truly a blessing to know during the time it was. So many people thought he was caring but also very dedicated to the job he did. He never gave up hope even during the hardest times of what he had to witness himself because all he wanted to do was to spread awareness to others so then everybody would know what was going on and nobody was kept in the dark. Being a photojournalist was not only just showing up on scenes but seeing things in a different perspective that others may not see and help others see the truth on how much pain there was in the world or there very own society, Bill Biggart was a very true hero on this very day and i'm sure he is happy that he was able to do his passion and spread the truth with the photos he had taken and that he was a photojournalist not for the money but to give hope in those that had it lost in them, to show that the sun will still show after every storm. |
