Joe Lewis went for a picnic lunch
In Tilden Park high above the Berkeley hills.

He was playing the guitar with a guitar pick.
Carrying a wicker basket of picnic supplies.
Following directions he had received
For a special picnic for special people.

It was a foggy afternoon as he went through
The haunted forest imagining hearing
The ghost mad bagpiper
that haunted the forest.

He came upon a clearing,
He saw strange creatures

Bears, centaurs, dwarfs
goats, gorillas, pigs, lions,
and tigers standing there..

They welcomed him,
Said they were late
And bid him join them
For lunch in the big red balloon.

A red balloon
soared through the air.
They explained,

'"We are exiles
from the land of Oz
Living in the Bay Area.

Off to Oz To see the Wizard,
And petition for the release
Of the so-called "wicked witch".

Who is a political prisoner
For advocating for human rights
For animals."
