This is based on my work Trees.
Josh is 13 years old and starting a new chapter in his life. His family moved from a busy city to a quiet mountain home. He enjoys autumn because the leaves change to bright colors like red, orange, and yellow.

One sunny afternoon, Josh takes a walk on a nearby trail. He enjoys the beautiful scenery and breathes the fresh air. The sounds of the leaves and wind make him think about life.

Suddenly, a kind old woman appears and asks, “What does life mean to you?” Josh, surprised, asks, “Who are you?”

“I care for the trees and water,” she replies. “I love the beauty of nature.”

“It’s nice to meet you! I’m Josh. My family wanted to find peace away from the city,” he says.

The woman asks again, “What does life mean to you?”

After thinking for a moment, Josh replies, “I’m not sure yet, but I would like help figuring it out.”

She smiles and says, “I can’t give you the answers. Only you can find out what life means to you.” She leaves, but her words stay with him.
