Terrible Teens

"Arabelle!! Arabelle!!, are you up and getting dressed". Prudence Sternwood yelled up the stairs as her sixty four year old husband Donald impeccably dressed in a black suit white shirt and black tie with white think vertical stripes "I really don't understand this lazy generation" he moans "It's like groundhog day every morning with her".

Prudence nods her head in agreement "Arabelle, don't make me come up there" Prudence stares at herself in the mirror. She's also dressed in a two piece black business suit, a pair of thick lensed black circular glasses sat on her nose which complemented her chubby face. She sighs and begins to ascend the stairs, panting as her corpulent frame struggles with the exertion. She knocks before opening Arabelle's bedroom door which is in complete darkness, her shadow from the hallway fills up the bedroom floor. From the bed she sees the light of a cell phone screen.

Prudence gasps in anger struggling to catch her breath "Arabelle, get up and get dressed. when my parents called me in the morning I would spring out of bed straight away, get dressed, Mum and Dad inspect our uniform and then and not until then had we breakfast"

From under the sheets comes a grunt and sigh "Yeah but you had no friends!"

Prudence wipes some sweat from her brow, the back of her neck tightens in frustration "Well I'm a successful businesswoman and I didn't achieve that lying in bed all morning now; get up, you'll make us both late". She fumbles for the light switch and flicks it on.

A black haired sleepy head pops her head up "blah blah blah".

Prudence removes the bed duvet, grunts as her back aches while she gets into position and swipes her cell phone "Now young lady, get up!"
