Alicia ran into problems while taking pictures out a window. 300 words |
Pastime Problem Alicia Perkins was confined inside. In fact, she was quarantined. She sat at the living room window which overlooked the road. Every now and then, she snapped a photo of something she thought interesting or puzzling. When she saw a figure dressed all in black moving in a furtive manner down the middle of the street, she took several pictures. The flashes were startling and it turned its head toward the window. Alicia was shocked to recognize him as their neighbor,Al. He ran across the lawn and up to the window. Mouthing words, he pounded the glass! She got up and backed slowly away. Breathing on the glass, the angry man wrote: “Give me that camera!” She ran from the threat, went upstairs and climbed into bed. Covering her head, she soon fell asleep. She woke up to a scraping sound at her window. It was dark but she knew who it was. A flashlight shone in her window as hands wearing black gloves opened it. “Daddy! Mama! Help!” she screamed painfully. Running footsteps converged on her room, just as someone climbed in the window. “Little girl, you better give me that camera now!” “You better put your hands on top of your head and stop right there or we’ll blow you back through that window!” said her parents. Her mom turned on the light and went to protect Alicia. Her dad, still holding his service revolver on the figure, took out his cuffs and cuffed him. “You will apologize to my daughter!” he said as he pushed him toward the bed. Alicia didn’t wait; she pressed a big buss on his cheek. Her parents smiled at her. Last her daddy heard, Al Sampson had a full-blown case of double-sided mumps that he must’ve picked up somehow! |
