Karen Smiled “Ok, so I’m gonna go get something to eat,” Jeff said. “Excuse me! This isn’t over yet. You can’t just leave!” Karen said. “Watch me…” “Really?” Ted piped up, “You’re just gonna drop everything and go eat, right now? “I’m hungry. Aren’t you? It’s way past lunch.” “And the game is not over!” Karen practically spat. Jeff looked right at her, “There is no way I’m going to win, it’s pretty obvious… Why is it necessary for me to sit here and watch the two of you battling over who wins? I’m a person too. I have almost no money left, and I’m hungry! I choose bankrupt and some lunch!” Seeing how determined he was, Karen tried a new direction, “Spoil sport! Just because you are low man on the totem pole doesn’t mean you’re out of the game! You still have, what, hundreds of dollars there!” “Take them, I’m hungry,” Jeff said. “You can’t give money away! It doesn’t say anywhere in the rules that you can give money away! Are you trying to change the rules?” “Listen sister. I know you love to win. And I know you hate to lose. Maybe you’ll win over Ted, and maybe not. I doubt that Ted really cares either,” he looked at Ted. Ted suddenly looked like he saw a ghost. “Ah…” he mumbled. He really didn’t care, but he had a wicked crush on Karen so he didn’t want to upset her. However, Jeff knew this, even if his twin sister was clueless. It was about time to help. “Lunch wins!” he said, and left the table! “From the kitchen he heard outrage, then quieter talk, then laughing. Carrying his sandwich in, he could see his sister finally figured it out. He gave her a wink. Karen smiled. |
